Great chicken the macaroni and cheese was a little runny for my liking but chicken was amazing and not overly salty

To be honest, best food in Washington County don't get any better until you drive 60 miles west to Greenville or all the way to the beach. Seafood is great, I enjoy the fresh NC caught oysters when they're in season.

Excellent chicken gizzards.... generous portions, you definitely get your money's worth. Expect a wait in drive thru, dinners made to order.

I get fried gizzards occasionally when i come thru town. They cook when you order and are always good!!!!

Ordered take out today for 4 people. Speakers need improving to avoid repeating requests. Food person who brought food out was nice and courteous. The food was very fresh, hot, prepared well, generous, and we enjoyed good food at a reasonable price. Appreciate small town goodness!!!

Yummy, best meals ever, hot and fresh. Love the fish and chips, fried chicken, shrimp and great fries. No trip to the beach is complete without our Golden Skillet stop!

Great food, ate there two days in a row when we were in town. It was just like having a home cooked meal ! I travel a lot and get tired of eating fast food so this place is perfect . The service is fast and friendly . Will definitely return next time we are in town ! The fried chicken is good. The barbeque is great , potato salad is great ! If you're in Plymouth North Carolina don't pass this up !

Very busy place, long wait time but my shrimp box was very highly seasoned. Need to take the time to make and prepare the food with love like old times

One of the few places to eat in Plymouth. Not really comparable to other places. If it was in a decent sized town it probably wouldn't survive. But compared to whats around it they're pretty good.

My food was good.Only problem I had was the girl at the Window had her mask under her chin and she was messing with her mouth before giving me my food and drinks.FYI please don’t touch face or anything else on your body while serving food.

Great fried chicken, fluffy biscuits. My husband had the BBQ, said it was excellent. Nice place, friendly people. We will come here again.

Love this place! My family and I have stopped here several years in a row on the way home from OBX just for the fried chicken and fried oysters. The ladies are nice, and the food is delicious! It’s food the warms the soul and fills your belly!

Not impressed. Unfriendly staff and prices are not worth what you get. This use to be a great place to eat and loved it before they moved to this facility. I would never waste my money there again. Unless you want to leave and still be hungry go somewhere else.

I really would like to have a GOLDEN SKILLET near my city. The food especially my favorite "Fried Chicken Livers" They are FANTASTIC! Not greasy and just plenty n delicious! Yummy yum!

This place is a gem and worth the stop if you want down home cooking that isn't a chain or fast food and want to eat local. No bones about it, the interior is unique, with a fountain, hand written signs and an interesting spin on decorating, but the food is great and the staff is kind. It isn't exceptionally fast food usually because it is cooked to order, though there is a drive through and they do take out, but the food is always worth the wait. The catfish is my favorite: it's moist but flaky and really flavorful, their fried okra is some of my favorite in the state: breaded just right to have some crisp to it and cooked enough to be plump but not slimy. If you want to go real southern their livers and gizzards are great, and their desserts are tasty. It's great for fried food, chicken and I really recommend the seafood. If you are looking for something delicious but not too fancy and good for the soul and wallet, give the Skillet a try!

Love it always pleased every time i go there well worth the drive from Washington NC

Waited 20 minutes in drive thru with no way to drive off. Was then asked to pull up and wait another 10 minutes. Finally got my plate and was surprised at how little food on the plate for $15. (Ordered seafood platter) A lot of the “shrimp” were actually just little fried pieces of flour. 1 star because the food was hot. I could tell the oil it was cooked in was too hot as well as old.

this staff is a joke!! close early....always find a reason not to make an order....even an hour before they close?? where do they do that at??

The food is hot and good taste. It was really busy and had to wait almost 40 minutes for our food to go for 2 people. Also it was Sunday and everyone was coming in after church services. When I come into the area I always get me some of their chicken.

People here cant even count...?? Gerry got to do better...its got to be the food keeping this place in business...because it's definitely not the service!!

A good down-home Southern diverse group of people. I started with the fried chicken we decided I wanted I have a rack of spare ribs. Also got sad orders of potato salad and baked beans. The meal was great it was like that nights on my way back from my vacation to home and Pharma North Carolina. Going to have to say that it was typical of the people or the natives of that area. Not a part of that setting but the food was great!

For the price is the food is delicious! Fast service. I had the bbq plate, coleslaw, yams, string beans all for a little under 10 bucks.
